[Plugin: podPress] Optimal setup between PodPress and FeedBurner
-
I’m in the process of setting up a podcast on my WordPress site, and I need some clarification about the interaction between PodPress and FeedBurner.
From what I can tell, when you install PodPress it alters your basic RSS feed so that it includes the media enclosures on each page that has and MP3 embedded on it. If you then use the FD Feedburner Plugin you can redirect your feed to FeedBurner. At this point you can use the FeedBurner feed and submit it to sites like iTunes and it will pick up the information from the enclosures and disregard any other non-podcast related posts from the blog. Is this correct?
If everything above is correct, then my main question at this point is this: should you enable FeedBurner’s “SmartCast” feature, or should you just leave the feed as it is, since the relevant enclosures should already be embedded from PodPress? If you do enable SmartCast will it interfere with the enclosures that you already have set up through PodPress?
Any help with these questions would be appreciated, as I can’t seem to find much information about the interaction between PodPress and FeedBurner and how to configure the two properly.
