[Plugin: Pie Register] Overwriting defined password

When adding a user from the administration area, client complains that the password sent in the email is not the password she has defined. Troubleshooting, it seems that it is PIE Register that is overloading the password function if the password comes from the admin panel.
Is there a patch for this? We are using a third party plugin that is making upgrading WP Core complicated, but if that will solve it, we may invest the hours.
