• Installation went fine after following directions to copy necessary files (common.php, auth_wpbb.php). I can log into WordPress or phpBB with no problems.

    However:
    1) If I log into one, I still have to manually log into the other. (Is there a way to pass a session cookie between the two?)
    2) Creating a new user in WordPress does not create them in phpBB.
    3) Creating a new user in phpBB does create them in WordPress

So it’s only partially broken, would be nice if it was not broken at all though.

  • Maybe the paths are not set correctly??

I’m using this plugin for one of my projects with WP 3.0.1 and PhpBB 3.0.7PL1 and everything works fine.

About 2 and 3, the plugin does not create users when you create it in one of the sides…

It creates the user the first time they login (that’s because the plugin name is ‘Single Sign On’).

    I.e:

I have disabled registration in PhpBB. All my users are registering using WP. When they login in WP for the first time, this plugin creates the same user in PhpBB and makes the login in PhpBB too. When the user disconnect from one of the installations, he’s disconnected from the other side too.

Extensive testing on this today using WP3.0.1 and PHPBB3.0.7-PL1 shows erratic behavior regarding logon/logout and creating of accounts.

I’d say this plugin is not working well enough to actually be considered stable. It works. Sometimes. Not always.

And to be honest if you’re going to have a bridge, it needs to work, otherwise you’re better off just explaining to users that they will need to register twice. ??

samuelaguilera, how are you able to do that? What plugin?
My “main” side is WP and I’d like to stay with it if possible.

    Here’s my current issue:
Plugin works (I made it work)…. well almost.
New users that register on Phpbb forum are automatically added to WP Users.
However, old users can’t login into Phpbb forum using WP username & password.
To add to that – I use Visitor Maps and Who’s Online plugin in WP and when old user tries to log in to Phpbb – they show up in Who’s Online on WP side but can’t login to the forum.
Do you know if that means that old users “login” to WordPress when they try to access phpbb forum?
In other ways, would all new users be able to login into WP (if I say create something) using their Phpbb login info?
Is it possible to fix the problem so that WP users can login?
    What can I do?
