• I guess I must be an unusual WP user! A new WP site I am developing within the (unreasonable) requirements of the Club’s Board has three areas:
    Public Site: visible to all, edits

      only

    by Admin.;
    Members Area: visible only to subcribers+, edits

      only

    by Admin.;
    Blog: visible to all, edits only by Contributors+, comments only by Subscribers+.
    I have achieved this with the ‘User Role Editor‘ Plug-in.

    All ‘subscribers+’ will be by invitation only, i.e a WP Admin will send them an email with their userid and password. Is there any chance that ‘Personal Welcome’ could include the new user password in the email? ‘SB Welome Email Editor‘ does this but cannot co-exist with other Plugins that I believe I need, e.g. Stout Google Calendar.

    Sorry, this is out of scope for the Personal Welcome plugin at the moment. The best thing for you to do is investigate how to get Welome Email Editor working with your other plugins.

    I will bear this in mind for a future version of Personal Welcome.

    Thank you Chris,

    Fair comment! Your format plus pro-forma content should be a basic WordPress function. Who will take this on?

    I can usually hack php to make it do what I want but I could not write or maintain a secure program or plug-in. Changing the welcome text is easy (preferably in a child theme) but:

    WordPress should allow the user to configure welcome emails; not depend on the Webmaster or a Developer.

    Thanks again, Alan
