    Hi. I am the author of Permalink Redirect, but has no affiliation with the “permalink redirect” plugin that WordPress’ auto-update manager picked up, which appears to be a different plugin but with the same name.

    Mine has never gone 1.0 so for now please grab the latest version from my site while I am trying to work out how WP’s auto-update mechanism can break an existing working plugin this way…

    Your plugin works MUCH better – I now see what you mean – wordpress is alerting admins to auto-update the WRONG plugin (because it’s named the same!)

    Oh boy.

    Deactivating Joost’s plugin and re-uploading/activating yours did the trick.
