[Plugin: PayPal Donations] coding help
-
I read through some of the earlier posts about this plugin where someone asked about changing the “cmd” input. This would tell Paypal not to treat the transaction like a donation right? This seems important because I’ve heard all kinds of stories about Paypal freezing the accounts of people who use the donations feature but aren’t registered as nonprofits. Also, I’m not a programmer. I can look at code and not get completely scared, but I can’t tell what most of it does (except HTML and simple Javascript). In response to the post above, Johan mentioned that changing the cmd type would take only one line of code added to the plugin file. Could someone post that line for me?
Also, would it be easy to add a textbox to the page where the person can specify the amount before clicking the payment button? That would simplify the payment process just a little since they wouldn’t have to type it in and click “update amount” on the actual Paypal page. For example, could you use an amount attribute in the shortcode and direct it to get the contents of a text box, or is that beyond the scope of shortcodes?
