I didn’t try it but thank you. I’ll reference this if I need it in the future.

So the theme’s menu has to be active on pages before APC will show up? I can’t seem to find “visible on pages” anywhere!

    Figured it out!

A couple days after that last post I noticed Page Theme were working for custom post types, but not pages or posts. Good thing I left the plug-in active. (Normally I disable ones that don’t seem to work.)

A plug-in “Post Types Column Editor” was hijacking the columns for posts and pages. Once I disabled Post Types Column Editor, Page Theme was available for Posts and Pages.

HOVER over “Appearance” rather than click, and you’ll see “Page Theme.”

It brings you to a page where you can enable the plug in for posts and pages.

Then under Posts, you’ll see a “Theme” column. When you click on that, it opens the ‘custom theme’ area below.

I’m in the latest version of WP, 3.4.2.
If it’s not working, it might be a plugin conflict. Try disabling all plugins as a quick test just to see.

    hi everyone

how to make the page theme plugin works not just for post and page but to categories? Does anyone know to make it.

    thanks

You make a page template with a with a custom query that loops through all the posts of a given category, then assign that template to a static page, and set the page template on that page with APC.

It would be easier to use the “Multiple Themes” plugin instead of this one. Search the plugins directory for “jonradio.” It allows you to set the theme by URL. So if your permalink structure is domain.com/category/… you can check a box making everything that begins with that URL use your specified theme. It works great! (I do that same thing.)
