I’m testing the Page Security plugin for my latest client site. When there is no user logged in and I try to click through to a secure page, I do not get a login nor any expected message. Instead I get a 500 Internal Server Error with the message “There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”

The page displays correctly if a user is logged in.

Site is running on Microsoft IIS/7.0
    Wordpress 3.4.1
    Page Security 1.5.8

I have tried disabling plugins to try to track conflicts but have not had any positive results.

I have also tried setting permalinks back to default with no effect.

    Site URL is https://kaurifunds.dev.boldhorizon.co.nz
    Protected page is https://kaurifunds.dev.boldhorizon.co.nz/investor-centre/

Any suggestions for trouble-shooting or resolution gratefully received.

    Cheers
    James.

Never mind. I’ve implemented the required functionality in an alternative way which is working well.

I was having the same issue with WordPress 3.5.1 and plugin version 1.5.8. I was able to solve the issue by setting up custom pages for access denied on Authenticated and Anonymous users.

This is accessible from Settings -> Page Security. On the page that is loaded click the top check-box to the right of the label Use Custom Pages. The description of the check-box (to the right) is “Use pages for default access denied screens”. Protection Type radio button left at the default value of Redirect.
