Most likely you have put woocommerce in an unusual location.
This plugin looks for the folder yoursite/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce to see if WooCommerce is active. Sometimes, when you download from github for example, the folder is named differently, after the zip name (could be ‘woocommerce-master’).

You may find many other WooCommerce extensions giving you the same notice, as this is a woothemes standardized method of checking whether woocommerce is installed, so I advise you to rename the folder.
