Hi we have just noticed the custom CSS has disappeared and we don’t know why? Could the plugin have updated and not kept it there? Any ideas, it certainly wasn’t removed manually?

Would it make more sense to keep these changes in our standard CSS file from now on?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

That sounds strange, and I can’t really see a reason for this. TablePress does not touch the “Custom CSS” during an update, so that I don’t think that it was removed that way. Could it be possible that something in the wp_options database table was modified? That’s where the CSS is stored.

Now, TablePress additionally stores the “Custom CSS” in a CSS file, at https://example.com/wp-content/tablepress-custom.css
Does that file still exist and show the “Custom CSS”?

Tobias that has to be the fastest response I’ve ever had on support! Thanks so much.

I found the file you mentioned and it has the current css that I’ve re-entered but not the missing old css. very odd but at least if this is an external file I can always restore a back up should I need to.

    Hi,

yes, if you had entered new CSS, the old CSS will also be gone from that file.
And yes, if you back up that file, you can restore the CSS from it.

    Regards,
    Tobias
