I’m getting an error when I try to back up:

“Failed to resolve the WordPress parent folder path, : An error happened at: wp-db.php(1125) mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource.”

So it looks like something might be wrong in my database, but I have no idea what that would be. I went in there and looked around, but didn’t see anything obvious. I don’t have much experience with databases, so I don’t want to muck around without knowing what I’m doing. And I’m not even 100% sure that’s the problem.

Has anyone seen this error before? It looks like my database was backed up, but not the other files that should have been. So I guess it can’t access the other files for some reason?

    Thanks!
    Deb

    Hi texins5,

The error message should give more information but due to a glitch doesn’t. Please can you download and install the following updated version. It will give more information. You’ll need to uninstall and delete the existing plugin first and then click Plugins -> Add New -> Upload.

    Hi mueedkh,

This may be fixed in the next release. This will be out this week at some point. It improves on how it resolves the path.

    Jason.

    Hi,

Can you check with your host that the path should work?
It seems WordPress says the path is there but the backup plugin can’t open it.

    Jason.

Yes the path is seems fine. But I have not idea why plugin can’t open it. I have copied this site from another domain and the plugin was working fine on the previous domain.

By the way can you tell me how to check whether the path is working and correct or not.

    Thanks,

    Mueedullah K.

This is the exact hosting path D:\Hosting\10003147\html

Are you able to check permissions on that folder that the user PHP runs as can read and list folder contents etc?

Yes but there are not specified, can you tell me what should be the permission?

    (@driskell)

Best to contact your host regarding which user needs permissions and what permissions they need.

If you know the user the minimum permissions required would be: Traverse folder / execute file; List folder / read data; Read attributes; Read extended attributes; Read permissions

I installed wordpress in main root directory and I think the permission are correct. But still something wrong with the site.

If you give me some time I’ll produce a test version you can use that will try Windows backslashes etc. Although it should work fine with forward slashes, but we can try.
