    Hi justinasia,

You will need to sent the backup to a different email address.

It is a known problem that Gmail will be receiving the backup and rejecting it silently because it is either too big or there is something in the ZIP file it does not like. This is an inherent problem with emailing and isn’t particularly a problem with the plugin.

Because email works like postal delivery, once it’s sent the plugin reports as successful and it can’t ever know if the email reached the other end OK as the other end doesn’t normally respond.

    Regards,

    Jason

I have the same issue with not only my gmail, but also AOL and Yahoo email accounts. What email accounts are compatible with this plugin?

    Hi Bethany,

We just use WordPress to email the file, and WordPress passes it to your web host. So if the plugin says it was sent successfully, that’s all we know and it’s all WordPress knows. It’s then up to your web host to deliver the email and bounce it or not.

Chances are it will be too big for Gmail/AOL/Yahoo, but not too big for your web host (they probably set a bigger acceptable size). This is the case in 99% of cases, especially if the backup is bigger than 20MB in size (check the Activity Log and then click Show Events – it will say the size of the backup.)

Try excluding some data to reduce the size. Or choose a different target address with bigger limit. If the size is beyond 40-50MB though it will likely be too big for any email.

    Regards,

    Jason
