So you have a “Professional” plan?

That is correct. I actually have a professional plan I use for my web development clients and my company uses a Premium plan for our company blogs.

I also tested the plugin with identical WP Installs on a Hostmonster and Localhost server environment with no issues. So it does seem that something WPEngine is doing does infact prevent the plugin from functioning.

Again, I couldn’t get their support team to tell me what they were doing to block it, or why the plugin was disallowed.

Interestingly enough the article the support team referenced doesn’t actually list your plugin.

    https://wpengine.com/support/disallowed-plugins/

I asked about that, and they said that a new, more complete list of disallowed plugins would be released in the near future.

That’s really strange but thanks a lot for the info!

As the person who maintains the WP Engine disallowed list, I can assure you that Multisite Language Switcher is not on the list. So whoever told you that is extremely misinformed, Taylor.

    Hope this helps clarify things!

Thanks @boogah for the update, forgot I had posted this.

However it does seem there is an issue with the plugin while running on a Multisite with WPEngine. On the post edit screen the language post selectors show up, but don’t pull any posts, they are blank drop-downs.

I’ve tried the usual disable all plugins and revert to default theme. Haven’t had time to troubleshoot any further. I’ll see if there are any messages in the error logs and update.

The plugin works on a local mirror of the wp install that isn’t on WPEngine.

Interesting news! Thanks for pointing this out, @boogah!

@taylor4484 I don’t know anything about the environment at WPEngine so I can not help here. Please let me know if there are any news.
