Is this plugin okay to use to display trustpilot reviews? Their actual plugin is complete crap and this plugin is way better and phenomenal.

However, I received an email from trustpilot’s accounts executive stating violating their guidelines and to remove their badge and reviews (and to discuss paid plans with them)

Not sure if a sales plan or if we’re actually violating anything .

    Hello!

    Thank you for your lines!

Please send us the guidelines, what you got.
As previously we checked, if you do not use their logo and make a link to their review summary page (where the reviews are readable for the public -so public info-), you will not violate their guidelines.

But we are waiting the content of their mail. (Is it an official mail or a sales person’s action?)

    Thank you for your time,
    Tom

    Hello,

    Their first email said

“Trustpilot’s enforcement team has brought -our website name- incorrect use of the trustpilot logo and reviews to my attention. The screenshot of the fake widget on your website violate our guidelines and that they ask that you take them off your website. If you would like to showcase some reviews on your site, I would be happy to cover some plan options with you.

    Senior account executive”

We emailed back that we removed the trustpilot logo badge from ur plugin display. And their next email:

“Removing the logo did help but you still do not have the license to use the review content on your website. When customers leave a review on Trustpilot they top-in to our Terms and Conditions that allow businesses to use their reviews only if they have the license to that content. In a paid plan, you will receive the licensing as well as our marketing assets.

The plan you’re currently on, the free plan, is made to allow businesses to collect reviews to build a positive reputation and credibility behind your brand. Leveraging that feedback in other channels outside your profile page comes with a paid subscription with you can find some details on our website.”

It seems to be from a sales person and also, searching the sender shows their are in sales at Trustpilot.

It is in Trustpilot’s interest (and will likely seek to do so in the future) to block its own ratings from outsiders…

In our experience, Facebook and Google reviews are more valuable as these websites are well-known by everyone in the world. (But what is certainly true: better known than Trustpilot.)
If you prefer not to subscribe to a Trustpilot plan (starting from 199$/month = 2388USD/year, you can increase the number of your Facebook or Google reviews (or both), and display them with your Trustindex subscription for 45 USD/year.
