Plugin not working with WP5.1 Update

    Just a friendly heads up for anyone looking to update to the latest version of wordpress (5.1) – Contact Form 7 does not work after applying the update.

    All forms will display the following message upon submission:

    ‘THERE WAS AN ERROR TRYING TO SEND YOUR MESSAGE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER’

    We had to roll back the site from backup in order for our forms to work again.

    @quantumstudio – I’m using CF7 5.1.+ on many sites without problems – I get dozens of emails every day from these sites.

    I’m adding this comment here so other people having similar problems with using Contact Form 7 (CF7 has 5+ million active installs) see that there are simple solutions to their particular problems.

    To help answer your specific question (if you are still interested):

    Is the ‘THERE WAS AN ERROR TRYING TO SEND YOUR MESSAGE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER’ in an orange or red border?

    We’re using ReCaptcha v3 if that makes a difference?

    @buzztone I’ll see about duplicating the site onto a subdomain – upgrading to 5.1, then providing a link
