Here’s the page that was once working.

    https://guitar.timplaster.com/2013/01/23/taylor-swift-22-3/

    Hi there,

I’ve tried that page on Firefox, Chrome, and IE9 (I’m on a PC…) and it works normally in all of them. Thanks for emptying cache; that’s the right place to start. Be sure that you’re also clearing cache for sessions and apps. These settings vary depending on the browser and I don’t have a comprehensive list. Clearing cache is unfortunately not as straightforward as it once was, with all the options now available.

You may also want to make sure you’ve completely logged in or completely logged out of any Google account in the browser. A Google account isn’t necessary, but a “stale” login may interfere.

    Hope that helps.

Hello, I am having the same problem at https://qtdentallab.com/rx-form/. I cannot resolve it. Any suggestions? Thank you.

    Hello,

I have two websites that are identical. Google Doc Embedder is working on one website but not the other. It is very strange.

The website where it is working is: https://phiredesign.us/rx-form/

The other is where it is not working and has an error message:
    https://qtdentallab.com/rx-form/

I have all the same exact plugins installed on both websites.

I visited the FAQ on the plugins website at: https://www.davistribe.org/gde/notes/#gde-error but my file is 6 mb, it is the proper file formet (PDF), the shortcode is correct, and my file is the correct URL. I still cannot fine the problem. If anyone can help that would be so wonderful. Thank you!

    Best Regards,

    Kelly

Kelly, I answered your email prior to your post here. Hopefully you got it. If not, post back and I’ll resend. The issue Tim was having is local to him, but your issue is not the same. I assume your two instances are on different servers? The problem you’re running into is probably server related because of the error you’re getting from the WP HTTP API. You can disable error checking on the Advanced tab of GDE Settings to get around this until a better solution is available.

    Hi k3davis,

I did not receive the email. My email address is [email protected]. I may have not replaced my email address from what was originally on the form in the plugin (on the dashboard). Thank you for all your help. I am on the phone with my server company trying to resolve the issue now.

    Best Regards,

    Kelly

Thanks for your quick reply Kevin!! I signed out of Google and it works great now! I signed back in to Google and it still works! Thanks again for this plugin!!

    This is resolved for me.

so, my big question now is what about end users? how will they know to log in and out of their google accounts to get the pdf to load? is there a smarter fix than the login/out cycle?

No Google account is necessary. If they have one, they will probably be logged into it or logged out of it already. I would consider this a niche circumstance, not a broad problem. But some users may be affected. How or if you choose to let users know about this is up to you. This plugin can’t control this aspect of Google’s viewer… it is what it is.

So, I am loggued in Google account, it doesn’t work. I log out, it works.

I’m sorry, but I can’t accept that. It’s not your fault, but that’s not acceptable for my users. It’s Microsoft IE6 standard, not Internet standard.

You don’t have to log out, but you do have to be fully logged out or fully logged in. As you noted it’s a situation that can’t be improved by me at present. If you “can’t accept that,” you will have to find another solution.

    Thank you for the insight.
And I want to add that it’s not against you. I really like your work, but I’m getting fed up more and more with Google which is not reliable. Hence my analogy with Microsoft.
But, what, saying that to Google is useless, which is why I’m saying that here, because I think you can make the difference.
So, yeah, I’ll find another solution, since the Google way is more and more a Godwin point, but I’ll also keep confident you all guys will be able somehow to be better than Google.
    Cheers.
