I have been using the plugin for months with great results. After updating wordpress and my theme (Customizr) my custom side bars are missing. I am trying to recreate them but can not get the pics to load.

I did try de-activating yoast as suggested by someone else but it did not change anything.

  • Me too, just installed update with Costomizr theme and whole site crashed message on screen: Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_strtolower() in /home/metameco/public_html/wp-content/plugins/custom-sidebars/inc/class-custom-sidebars.php on line 888
I have had to go in Cpanel and delete the sidebar file to get web active again, but obviously without the side bars….

    Hiya!

Me too, I’ve tried running my site without any plugins running & it crashes the whole site.

I renamed the plugins folder, this stops all your plugins from being activated. I then renamed the folder back to plugins. Logged into the now working site, re-activated all but the Custom Sidebars plugin & the site is back online.

Going to have to install version 2.1.1.1 as that one is working on other sites I am running.

I have managed to run version 2.1.1.2 successfully on a different site though – not sure why one site works while the other doesn’t. Both are hosed through the same company. There is a slight difference in plugins but when they are switched off this doesn’t make a difference. The one website that works is running the Types plugin for post types while the other is using Custom Post Types UI for handling post types, but other than that I can’t work out what might be the difference which could cause a conflict. Any ideas?

Need a fix for the new plugin though please!

    Completely crashed site with:
[error] 21149#21149: *38103 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mb_strtolower() in /opt/data/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/custom-sidebars/inc/class-custom-sidebars.php:888

I’ve rolled back to previous version for now.

    Hi all,

Sorry to hear you’re having these issues.

I was testing latest version on my end and I was unable to replicate any of them ??

@cdanderson1 Is this happening with any layout selected for your post/page or just with specific ones?

@metame Can you check if you have zend.multibyte = On set in your php.ini file?

@danpudsey What happens if you disable all the plugins except Custom Sidebars is the issue still there after that?

@metame, @danpudsey can you please start your own threads so we can deal with them separately and follow Forum Rules ??

    Cheers,

    Predrag,
thank you for responding. I love your plugin ! I had problems with the latest wp update and W3 total cache and host gator tech support had to help me.

My custom sidebars widgets were gone. I later found some of the widgets moved to the inactive file. Maybe the HG tec failed to reactivate something ?

Now I am trying to re-compose the side bars. But I can not get the one on my shop page to load – it should replace the left sidebar. Also, the jetpack image widget wont display the pic. (that might be another issue.)

Can I add html to the text widget to make the wording larger.

You can mark this particular problem resolved. I think I have another issue
