Plugin Not working on Newspaper

  • I have installed the Max Mega Menu plugin and set up as instructed, but no changes are applying to my menu and I can not get any kind of mega menu to appear on desktop. I am using the most recent Newspaper (tagdiv) theme. Specifically, I am trying to make a mega menu for the ‘Properties’ section of my header menu.

    Hi, yes I do still need help. I don’t have any other mega menu plugin on my site besides Max Mega Menu, so I’m not sure what you mean?

    I’m referring to the sub menu under “JOURNAL” here:

    How did you create that?

    I will install Newspaper now and check the instructions, but please note that once it does start working it will replace the whole header menu (all 4 links), so you would need to rebuild your menu (including the JOURNAL sub menu) using MMM. It may be easier for you to create a mega menu on your PROPERTIES sub menu using the same technique as you have for the JOURNALS sub menu (just trying to save you work).

    The Journal mega menu is a functionality of the theme that only works with blog posts, not with any other links. So I need MMM which has functionality for all post types.

    Hi houselorehq,

    I now see that Newspaper is a premium theme ($59) so I’m unable to install and debug it here.

    I see they have a header builder built in, so you could try using that to add a shortcode/html/text block to your header and paste in the menu shortcode to display it.

    Thank you, I think that’s a solution. Is there a way to make the drop-down portion of the mega menu full page width?

    Hi,

    Yes, please go to Mega Menu > Menu Themes > Mega Menus and set the Panel Width (Outer) to “body”.
