@inflac Your theme needs to be updated. Go to the product’s changelog to see when the latest version was released. If there isn’t an updated version that is compatible with 5.5, you will need to switch to a theme that is.

THANK YOU! This plugin restored the Classic Mode of WP Bakery for me. Still can’t update Slider Revolution or Essential Grid in the Highend theme, but at least I can edit the site again.

@samuelldrew you get five gold stars on your chart!!! You saved the day. That was the problem on my end, too. THANK YOU!!

@2chicks Not sure what I did, but I’m glad I could help.

Same here. Also, I lost my screen options. Please advise, WordPress!

    @abremen Thank you!
Clearing all caches (browser and WordPress/ WP rocket) did the trick for me. Everything is working as expected.

Deactivated All in One SEO, didn’t help. Also noticed an issue with screen options and help tabs at top of page. Both are showing, but nothing happens when you click on them.

enable jquery migrate helper – This plugin solved the issue and now WPBakery plugin has reappeared in my editor.

For what it’s worth I noticed my url parameter stopped working today after updating. It uses ?page= on url’s which then does some logic based on js. ?page= now gets removed and the js logic does not happen. Confirmed on my old site that does not happen. As soon as I updated, ?page= no longer works. Maybe this plugin also uses that query parameter? Note, it only happens on sub pages, not on the root.

    Try this:

    – In the admin menu, go to WPBakery Page Builder – Role Manager, do any change and then click on Save.

    This worked for me

Same issue here. And many other plugins are not working as well. By the way, Jetpack has disappeared from our dashboard altogether for unknown reasons as well. We’ve done a backup and restore of WordPress 5.4.2 and have initiated maintenance mode until fixes are released. We’re being very cautious in moving forward with this release. And we’re working with third-parties on every end — all of whom are overwhelmed with correspondence on these issues and how to fix them.

Initially, we did an automatic update of WordPress 5.5 along with plugins and themes and it completely broke our site. Totally dysfunctional. No photos were loading. Plugins were broken. Our theme was completely broken. After intensive investigation on all sides, we had a laundry list of issues that were literally of catastrophic proportion. It was a mess. The problems actually went very deep — precisely because this is a CORE release.

I trust this will be worked out, but it may take some time. Until then, we’re staying with WordPress 5.4.2 and playing it safe.

After doing intensive research today, it appears the global community is suffering and screaming for answers. And be prepared in the days ahead when browsing. A lot of websites are going to be either poorly functioning or have limited access. And website owners are going to have to support each other in this endeavor. This kind of dysfunction is ultimately going to cost people in the end, which is very sad. A lot of losses ahead for many until this is sorted.

This is indeed the worst and most catastrophic update we’ve ever experienced in the history of our company. We hope it’s fixed soon.

We trust WordPress is on top of this and will release fixes. But… It’s official: The poo has hit the fan.

Thnx Peteman – that worked: adding plugin “Enable jQuery Migrate Helper”

Hi, After updating to version 5.5 my site images are not loading. I deactivated all the cache plugins but still, the issue is not resolved. webite URL
