    Dear Dima,

I installed the AJAX filter and at first was very pleased by the supposed possibilities. But after installing the plugin, it is just not working. The sidebar appears with the filters, but no matter how much I filter, it just won’t update the product list. It does not even refresh the webpage.

I read other people are having this problem aswell. Any idea what the problem is?

    Kind regards.

Question 2: how do i filter per category?

    Hi forinn,

The problem is that you didn’t set correct products holder on the Settings page. Please provide a link to your shop page and I’ll help you with this.

As for the questions #2 – this plugin is filtering by attributes only. If you want to filter by category you can create attribute with the same values as categories are and add values to the products. Use this attribute as it was category for the filtering. Other way is to buy paid version of the plugin that has already filters by categories and filters by subcategories of the selected category.

    Dear Dima,

What “holder” ? I attached a screenshot of my settingspage. I already disabled the plugin so I can not provide a link. I need a working website. Please help me with the screenshot.

Perhaps it is an idea to remove the incorrect promises of the functionalities of the plugin. On your page you say “filter by category” as an feature of this plugin, but that seems to be only available on paid plugin. You should notify so, because now it is misleading. I installed plugin on the promise of category filtering.

    wpuser,

Products selector – is an element on the page where your products are listed. After filter applied results should be placed somewhere.
If you is using theme that uses WooCommerce default ids and classes you will not need to change this but if theme is not following the structure you will need to set this manually.

On your page you say "filter by category" – where? I have “Filter Visibility By Product Category And Globals.” which means

Product Category - if you want to pin your filter to category of the product this is good place to do it. Eg. You selling Phones and Cases for them. If user choose Category "Phones" filter "Have Wi-Fi" will appear but if user will choose "Cases" it will not be there as Admin set that "Have Wi-Fi" filter will be visible only on "Phones" category.

This is on the same page, Advanced Settings (Widget area):.

I’m not giving any “incorrect promises”. And even if my English is not perfect and I could wrote something that could be misunderstood I don’t think this is a good way to blame me in providing you plugin for free.

    Dear Dima,

Thank you for your reply. I think I understand your explanation and will try to adjust my settings. I think it is indeed caused by my theme who overrides certain templates.

As far as the feedback goes I meant it could be misunderstood. If you search for “filter by category” your plugin pops up. I understand the confusion.

Thanks for your reply. Kind regards.
