this is my first time with wordpress. i just uploaded the adsense-deluxe plugin to the plugins directory. now it needs to be activated in the dashboard under the Plugins menu in Plugin Management. the problem is that it does not display there. I only see the default plugins, ‘Hello Dolly’ and ‘Akismet’.

    I’m stuck. please help. thanks

edit: i just searched the forum a few minutes, find this same question posted about 6 times, and none are resolved. i also predict that someone will ask me “what was the path? how did you upload it? where did you upload it to? … “

A: using FTP, uploaded to wp-content/plugins directory (right where the default plugins are)

nevermind. thanks everyone for the efforts but i’ve managed to solve this one on my own.

for the sake of the half-dozen other posts i saw go unanswered, let me cut the gordian knot for the rest of you.

the mistake was to upload the entire adsense-deluxe_wp_plugin_v0.8 file into the wp-content/plugins directory. you need to upload ONLY the adsense-deluxe.php file into this directory.

thanks mikedark, you actually helped me uncover the crux of my problem, in my case it was uploading a folder that contained the plugin folder…
