    Hi

Does your plugin require crons to run?

Since my website host disabled the crons on the staging sites few months ago, my WC Square has not been even displayed properly in the checkout.

Instead the credit card details fields, there is this notice:

Sorry, it seems that there are no available payment methods for your state. Please contact us if you require assistance or wish to make alternate arrangements.

I know I can’t process any transactions as it is not a live site (even though I could in the past!), but at least I should be able to test any changes to the plugin including the size, how it displays on the page etc.

Since the mean host turned off the crons an all staging sites to save the server resources (although they present a different “explanation”), if your plugin requires crons to run – there is no way I could test it now on my staging site.

    Your thoughts?

    Hi there!

Square extension does require cron / background processing if you’re attempting to Sync products with Square.

That said, if you’re only testing the payment gateway, you can just disable sync from WooCommerce > Settings > Square > Settings and follow the instructions in https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-square/#section-17 to set up the payment gateway only.

Also, for testing you can use the sandbox mode https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-square/#section-6

If you’re still having trouble with the same, can you please get back to us with

    1. System Status Report:

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    2. A screenshot of Square settings (WooCommerce > Settings > Square > Settings)

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, you can try https://snipboard.io or https://skitch.com/.
You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    3. Square Logs:

There’s a built-in logging system enabled in the Square extension that could help you determine the cause of this behavior. If you haven’t enabled this already, you can enable this in (WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Square) :

    square

Once enabled, this logs the transactions and errors in **WooCommerce > Status > Logs >** Search for? Square credit logs in the drop-down at the top-right section and click on view button. Please copy the logs you’re seeing and paste them as a response to this topic.

This will help us track where the problem lies. Note that we will only be able to view logs for actions performed after logging has been enabled. So we wouldn’t be able to track behavior via log if that occurred before enabling logs for the same.

    hi
    thanks for your reply.

As I mentioned, I have this issue only on my staging site, and have the sync disabled just like on my production site.

As I have many more issues with my my current website host, I’m looking to find another one and migrate my website as soon as possible. I have already wasted a huge amount of my time on fixing the issues on my staging site which shouldn’t even exist.

Once I have migrated my website to a new host, if I still have issues with your plugin on the staging site there, I will follow the above steps of troubleshooting and contact you again.

    thanks

    Sounds like a plan.

I’ll mark this topic as solved for now. Please feel free to open a new topic if you face the same behavior after migrating to your new web host.
