    Hi there,
I keep having a major issue in that changes of layout in back-end, don’t display at front-end. I first ran the latest update you have, (4.2.0).
I used primarily Safari for local development and Elementor for this site. I then switched to Chrome.
The forms I try to edit all look the same with a single column layout, full width, as in some other cases I’ve read.
I also deleted the current version and uploaded an older version I saw in one of your threads, (3.3.8), but, again, not responding.
When I create a new form, it gives me a 2 column layout automatically, (see screenshot).

I also faced a problem initially with Elementor giving me a 500 server error upon trying to update changes to the page. When I deactivated Grid Layout plugin, the problem went away and I could update again with no problems.
Upon new installation of your newest version, the update problem of front end went away also.

I’m really not sure what else is the matter and form layout doesn’t change at all.
Unfortunately, I’m on a local dev, so I can’t give you a URL but only a few screenshots.

    Hoping you can help…?!

have you tried switching themes? Use a WordPress default theme such as twntytwenty and see if your forms display properly.

indeed the problem was due to safari browsers. This should now be resolved

Although I recommend you use Firefox for development, it is HTML5/javascript compliant as well as having the most powerful set of dev tools.

    – Error Console in dev tools:

don’t see any errors, just a warning about map resources which you can safely ignore.

    Hey there,

    Thanks for your swift reply!

have you tried switching themes? Use a WordPress default theme such as twntytwenty and see if your forms display properly.

I’m using Hello Theme from Elementor so I’m not certain that this light theme would cause any issues with that — I will however try it with 2020 and will let you know!

Unfortunately it’s not! I had to move away from Safari when developing and adopt Chrome. Not sure I’d want to move yet again to Firefox – but will certainly keep it in mind if I don’t see light at the end of the tunnel…!

Would it be worth it if I moved a temp install live for you to have a look at perhaps?

    Thank you

    try this first

Ok, so I tried both 2020 and another premium theme and it worked in both…!
    Frustration…..!!

I have set up almost the entire site with Elementor’s Hello theme. Wouldn’t want to change that now.
If there’s nothing else to try/configure from your end (?), I will take it up with them and see if they can suggest something.
Don’t know why Hello Theme wouldn’t be compatible with the plugin?!

    Thank you again!!!

P.S. I will also try through Firefox and the actual site in question – see if it somehow works through Firefox.

    Hey friend,

    We have Lift Off….!!!! :-))

So, after some further tweaking and experimenting, here’s what I discovered:
I was using a plugin called ‘Happy Addons’ for Elementor to display the form at the front-end and basically ‘pimp’ it further and make it more unique.
Well, this plugin was the actual problem – no Chrome or anything else. It messed with the compatibility of your plugin.

I then installed and activated another plugin to get more widgets for Elementor called ‘Essential Addons’ for Elementor. I placed my form with this plugin’s widget at the front-end and boom….it worked. They layout was exactly as I wanted it. Plus it gave me a whole lot of other tweaking, (css), possibilities right there.

Finally, I placed the same form with just Elementor’s out-of-the-box ‘Shortcode’ widget and yes, it worked also….! I never thought of trying this with just the shortcode!

I’m so happy man that it’s working – nothing wrong with your updates!!!
I’m writing all this and the plugins I used so that other readers may try or not try the same..!!

    Happy forming guys…

Thank you for your help and patience!!

P.S. I have both plugins activated at the same time with no issues so far, (Happy Addons and Essetial addons).

Don’t know why Hello Theme wouldn’t be compatible with the plugin?!

    its called lazy theme development!

This has happened with other users, not just you.

The reason is explained in this post.

I will also try through Firefox and the actual site in question – see if it somehow works through Firefox.

you’ll get the same result with Firefox.

You need to fix your theme, or change it
