Plugin not loading payment in the home country

Hi there @alexandernath,

There is a weird glitch with this plugin, when someone from Colombia (the store’s home country) tries to make a Payment through PayPal, the pay button won’t do a thing, it just loads, and changes the icon to “success” but the pop up window for payment won’t show up. Interestingly, if someone fromn any other country (US, Canada, México, etc.) tries to pay, the plugin will work perfectly and the window will load and accept payments. I don’t know what could be the issue. In the support threads I’ve seen support staff recommending the new paypal solution because this one will stop receiving support in 2022, the thing is that, that plugin does not support stores from Colombia, even after setting everything correctly it will show in the payment screen as “No method of payment available”

This is a bit peculiar, especially since PayPal is supported in Colombia.

Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

This kind of problem might be caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

• Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
• Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
• Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Lastly, support for PayPal Checkout will discontinue from 1 Mar 2022 and updates to the plugin have stopped as of 1 Sept 2021. We recommend switching to PayPal Payments.

I know that PayPal is supported in Colombia we have an account from Colombia PayPal for some time now, the thing that I say is not compatible, are some plugins that let me set PayPal as a payment method, PayPal Payments just won’t work, when I set it up and configure everything (even in PayPal Developer it shows that is connected to Woocommerce without problems), in front-end for the costumer it just displays a message “There is no payment method available. This may be our mistake. Please contact us if you need help placing your order.”, but not only for an address in Colombia, this error is for any address, even the ones that do work with this plugin, and in the backend in the page editor for the “Payment” page, it loads a text saying “Your store does not have a payment method that is compatible with the checkout block configured. When you have configured a supported payment method (eg Stripe) it will be displayed here.” That is using WooCommerce Blocks, if I use other payment editor like the one included in Elementor is says “A problem occurred, please try later” and the order appears in the back-end as “Failed”.

Also, PayPal Payments in the settings says “Unfortunately, the card processing option is not yet available in your country.” The only plugin so far that has worked with a Colombian PayPal account is this one.
