Hi, I’ve been using this plugin for a while with no problem. Recently upgraded the site using Elementor and a number of addons, bare theme – Hello Elementor.

While I got everything set up I deleted the cache and deativated. When I was ready I reactivated. That was the start of my problems. The minite I activate it, it doesn’t matter whether the cache is enabled or not, but the Home Page category boxes don’t appear on Brave, Microsoft Edge, Chrome and Android. Firefox is okay half the time but then go there again same problem. Also the menu has issues where it doesn’t drop down for the submenu.

Both the category grid and main menu are The Plus add on for elementor. Even if I delete them from the page, still have issues. Server is Litespeed PHP 7.4

I’m hoping there is a fix for this as it’s a very busy site with lots of vistors and needs a cache. I really don’t want to have to experiment with another caching system.

I’m using version 3.3.1 of the lightspeed plugin btw. WordPress 5.4.2 (not ready to upgrade to 5.5 as many plugins aren’t ready yet. Server is Litespeed and PHP 7.4

    Hi

This will have to wait till this evening when there is no traffic. The client is about to launch their new season stock and there is no cache on at the moment. I can’t reactivate Litespeed yet because the issue will occur and all hell will break loose. ??

I THINK it may be something to do with the javascript, specifically on the home page categories boxes on the front page.

If you visit the home page, no cache on and you can see the category boxes fine. The minute your plugin is activated that area below the slider is blank and everything is grindingly slow, even without the cache enabled. Deactivating the plugin returned everything to normal.

    Hi,

then could you please create a stage site for this ?

    Hi,

    Have done. ??

    https://www.zellyuk.co.uk/staging/

Your plugin is activated on there (cache not enabled, it is the mere activation that causes this). Menus don’t work, dropdown sticky doesn’t appear and all the categories have disappeared. For how it SHOULD look, view the main site at and you’ll see dropdown appears on scroll, menu works as it should including submenu on products and there are category boxes below the slider.

I thought it might be the custom header causing the issue, but deativating it made no difference.

(If it makes a difference I’m using Elementor Pro theme builder)

    Just sent the Report #YMYXCYPH

    Hi,

could you please try disable JS combine , JS minify and defer JS , then purge all , and see how it goes ?

Oh this is interesting, because the cache isn’t actually enabled so didn’t think the setting would apply but..

When those are switched off the category boxes now appear ok and the main menu works, the only thing that doesn’t is the dropdown sticky menu.

    Hi,

that means some of the option breaks it

now please import back your previous setting, disable options in JS setting and CSS setting , try to find which one breaks it.

    Hi
There is something really odd here. Even though the cache is NOT enabled it is showing in the page source as cached. GTMetrix also acts as if it is cached. It is not particularly fast loading 5.3s 71 (requests down from 117). Without a cache on it showed 3.2 secs and 112 requests.

I was able to put all the js and css minifies back and still worked except it was slow, but remember the cache isn’t actually on. Then I switched it on and GTMetrix acted as if it wasn’t on (114 requests, 9.4 pageload). And then the catergories and menu vanished again.

Ended up resetting to the defaults again, disabled cache, everything worked, enabled js combined and minify and again everything worked. Not tried the CSS again yet but I suspect they’d work. Checked the pages and it shows it has been cached, GTMetrix thinks it’s cached but it IS NOT enabled and shouldn’t be cacheing.

    Hi,

it is showing in the page source as cached.

could you please explain in detail ?

for cache , you need to check HTTP response header and looking for “x-litespeed-cache” header , for static resources, you may need to force refresh on browser, dev tool can also disable browser cache for easier test.

Yes, it says at the bottom of the pages it is cached by Litespeed. Regardless of whether I am logged in or out.

Check the staging site and see. The cache is not actually enabled though. The cache status page also confirms that all the caches (private, public, object etc) ar OFF. And yet, it is caching and reducing queries according to GTMetrix, but the page is slower than without the plugin activated..

    Hi,

I am not exactly sure which part you refer to , a screenshot would be great.

if you are checking with source code , there is a time stamp , check before and after purge , see time changed or not.

it is caching and reducing queries according to GTMetrix, but the page is slower than without the plugin activated..

a screenshot would be great to help me understand the issue.

and what does HTTP response header show ?

    Hi

You told me to put it on a staging site, which I assumed would be better than a screenshot.

As per the link above https://www.zellyuk.co.uk/staging you will SEE the pages are showing as cached when it isn’t enabled. And yes, everything has been purged and reset multiple times.
