[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] WP 2.8.4 and NEXTGen seems doesn’t work properly

sorry, I’m not too good at this. HOw should I check for the memory limit? In theory I hage a gig space and I doubt I reached it!!!!

tomorrow I will know from my host if I have reached space limit but, if that was the case why can’t I even delete galleries?? Why does everything get stuck? Like a crash?

Since the same upgrade I have a problem when uploading images, thumbnails creation fails…
Any patch for this?

thanks for pointing me to that patch. I hope I don’t sound too daft, but the .patch file, are those instructions for you to manually edit the files, or is there some mechanism by which it can run the updates automatically?

Applied the patch file, ngg-patch.patch, now the paths of the images are

domain.com/wp-content/wp-content/gallery/rw_acds_fall08/thumbs/img.jpg

It is adding wp-content twice.
This happens regardless of what option I put in gallery path in admin, or after adding an explicit path for wp-congfig in ngg-config.php

Hi Alex,

We are encountering a problem updating albums after upgrade to 2.8.4.

We can drag galleries across to an album, but when we hit update they are removed.

We are on 2.8.4a and 1.2.1 of NextGen

Will try upgrading NextGen and report if the problem persists.

First off, thanks for your ABSOLUTELY EXTRAORDINARY plug-in! It has to be one of best additions ever to WordPress based sites.

I’ve been using your plug-in for a while and have rarely ever wasted any time trying to get it to work, because it usually JUST WORKS. However, on my latest setup (fresh install) I simply can’t get the slideshow to work in Internet Explorer. Works great in FireFox and Safari, but I get a White Box in the place of the slideshow.

Now I have spent the past two days reading forums and making desperate attempts to fixing this (including : verifying swf player url, deactivating all other plugins, calling NextGen in the “footer” instead of “head”, hard coding a flash file with “Object” and “Embed” tags, trying on 5 different PCs half way around the world…) and just can’t find the solution.

Apparently i’m not the only one encountering this problem and I hope you can help us figure this out because at this point you are probably the only person with enough insight to save us.

In my particular case, I am using the following plugins. Perhaps this can help rule out incompatibilities…

I’d first like to suggest that everyone completely delete the next-gen gallery plugin folder (keep a copy of course) and update it manually.

Without causing any alarm, if your wordpress install was hacked by the worm prior to the wordpress update, your files may have been altered and new files added to that folder…so overwriting the existing folders may NOT work to remove any infected material.

In fact, I couldn’t even update automatically from my dashboard as the worm had infected the code (very quietly of course). Manual upgrade has solved the issues for me, but I still haven’t got the slideshow to work.

We used to have a place to define the path to imagerotator…I can no longer find it…still working on that solution though.

THANKS ALEX…the last upgrade has got nextgen slideshow working again.

I can confirm nextgen works perfectly with 2.8.4.

For anyone still having issues I encourage you to completely delete your original folders (keeping a backup copy of course) and doing a fresh install of nextgen and 2.8.4.
