    Hi There,

Is there a way for a user to change their vote?

I am using the gallery for people to pick narrow down their best images from a photoshoot and eventually narrow it down to their top 10. So people may start off with a 4-star image and they then decide that they want to make it 5-star etc.

Unlimiting the voting is one way, but that takes the average vote. I.e. a 5 star and a 1 star vote = a 3 star vote.

    Cheers

    Hi richie
Unfortunately voters cannot change their vote in the current release. I will add it to my to-do list, as I think there are a few users wanting this.

Perhaps you could delete the votes for each image when you narrow it down, so all images start off with nothing again? It’s not the best solution, but it will work for now ??

I hope you find the plugin useful anyway.

    Hey Shauno,

No problem. Ya its a great plugin.

I am assuming there is some code that takes the average of the votes and outputs the answers. Where as what I… and others are looking for it to display the last vote / current vote. If that makes any sense.

    Cheers.

oh…. being able to sort the photos by order of rating would be really cool too ??

I don’t understand why you would want to display the last vote?
You can filter images by their votes in the back end.

I mean displaying the last vote for when they change their minds, they only see the last rating they gave an image. So if they change their mind and and make an image 1 star… then the only see the 1 star… if you get me.

How do you sort them by votes, i don’t see an option for that? All I have in the Nextgen Options/Gallery are:

    Custom order
    Image ID
    File name
    Alt / Title text
    Date / Time

Ok, that would make sense if the plugin allowed the user to change their vote. But it doesn’t. I would like to add that feature, but for now I don’t have the time, sorry man.

There should be a filter under the NGG Voting menu item to view images by their votes.

From the back end, yes you can see the top rated images.

Is there anyway for the thumbnails in a gallery to be arranged by vote though… not from the back end but on the actual gallery page?

i.e. if a person selects rates 10 images in a gallery…. those 10 will show up on the first page?

Unfortunately not yet. But that is something I want to add at some stage.

subscribing, Im using it in private galleries for every user and I need to let my user change his decision on every image. Im thinking in offer the admin interface where he can clear votes of every image in his gallery, but I dont know how to put this in his gallery at bottom.
