[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Thumbnails no longer align

  • I haven’t been uploading galleries since WP upgrade from 2.9 and then 2.9.1 However I just uploaded a new gallery and noticed that my ImageList is not long aligned. That is to say when it created thumbnails they would be universally sized. Of course this some times resulted in images being cut off by the thumbnail choice, but I was just find with that.

    Now my image lists are completely misaligned and look entirely horrible. I’m positive it is the thumbnails causing the issue as I rethumnailed an old gallery and it broke as well.

    Is there a way to return it to the “old” way of cutting thumbnails? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Yes it is exactly that. I’ve been going on about it for some time but I may as well beat my head against a brick wall. It’s been running fine for the last couple of years but the last couple of updates have thrown it out of whack.

    This also happened to me after upgrading to 2.9.1. I like to have my thumbnails square at 100 x 100. I went back and checked the Thumbnail options and had to recheck ignore aspect ratio. After that, I had to go back to the affected galleries and regenerate the thumbnails to reflect the new setting. Everything works perfectly now.

    Different Sized Images Fix:

    Cool, so I had the same problem. I was looking into the thumbnails and found out that these were the problem for me as well.

    So, I went into the NextGen Gallery Options and under Thumbnails, I changed the ratio to something square (so I did 75 X 75) and still kept the “Ignore the aspect ratio” checked on.

    Then, I went back to the gallery and selected each thumbnail again just like wendlz did. However, do not crop the thumbnails against the edge of the image or you may not get a square thumbnail with different image sizes. I kept getting some with 75 X 74.

    Then I updated my page that I posted the gallery on.

    Checked the source page and all ratios were fine. All fixed!

    Wendlz fix will work if all your images are the same size.
