[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] The thumbnails won’t show up..

  • Hello!

    I installed NextGEN gallery today and it works all fine but one thing. I can not see the thumbnails.. Not at the dashboard or on my homepage..

    When Im trying to change the thumbnails options I get this messenger:

    “The path to imagerotator.swf is not defined, the slideshow will not work.
    If you would like to use the JW Image Rotatator, please download the player here and upload it to your Upload folder (Default is wp-content/uploads). “

    I have downloaded the files from the link but I simply just don’t know what to do with them.. Anyone who can help me with that?

  • I have the same problem. One gallery worked fine when I did it a week or so ago, but the new gallery is not displaying the thumbs in the admin area or on the page.

    OK, I got a response from the plug in creator. He called out a problem with the thumbs permissions. Make sure the thumb’s permission is set to “read” for public. Once I changed all of the ones in question, they showed up. I don’t know what exactly changed on my server to create this issue, but it is there. I don’t believe it is with the plugin, I think it is due to a Network Solutions hack I have been dealing with and the security on my site has been ramped up.

    Either way, change the permissions and all is well.

    I still have problems with this.. I think the problem is “imagerotator.swf” in some way but I don’t know how to solve it..

    I’ve tried to reinstall NextGEN but the problem remains.

    Any suggestions how to solve this problem? I really need to get my gallery working..

    I wish I could get back into my site to fix it, but I cannot. I downloaded NextGen Gallery and uploaded it to my site via FTP. Dropped it into the Plugins folder. Then I got this message when trying to view my site:

    I tried everything to get back into my site to fix it, but cannot. Did I make a mistake downloading the NextGen Gallery? Was I hacked somehow?
    HELP!!!
