[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Suggestions: Permalinks and [nggallery id=x]

  • I have two suggestions for future versions that are preventing me from really loving this gallery.

    First, Permalinks need to be expanded more. At the very least, the / page-xx/ part of the url should be removed. I’d prefer that you be able to use the actual album name and gallery name in the url though.

    Secondly, it’d be really nice if [nggallery id=x] could be extended to something like [nggallery id=x show=x order=x] where show=x is how many of the images you want to show and order=x is how to order this images (randomly for example)

    The reason is I want a quick way to show about 5 images on my post pages. The problem now is some of my galleries will have hundreds of pictures so there is no easy way to just show 5-10 of the images without all 100+ of them showing up on the post page.

  • I agree on adding just a few images into a post/page. Possibly like a “teaser” part. The album part is okay, but it shows one image and is another step that I’d rather not go through.

    Bump… are we the only ones that want to have a snippet of a gallery to show in the post?
