[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] sort order by gallery

  • Heya folks,

    I was wondering if anyone knows how to sort the images in an individual gallery? I like keeping all of my galleries set for Descending Order by date and time (ie – newest images first) but I would like to change a single gallery to display in the reverse order. (It’s a comic strip, so I woudl like the users to see the oldest strip first and then be able to page through using ‘next’ and ‘previous’.)

    I didn’t want to do the Custom Order because I don’t want to have to tell each gallery to sort in descending order.

    Is this currently doable? Is this planned as a future revision?

    I would also just like to add that Alex Rabe has created an amazing plugin in NextGen Gallery. This package has been making my life profoundly easier. Thanks Alex!

  • Can’t you simply click on the “Sort Gallery” link and then choose how you want it sorted and then do the same for all other galleries, then click the “Update Sort Order” link?

    Gallery > Manage Gallery > Select your gallery > Sort Gallery

    I don’t see a Sort Gallery link anywhere. The only place I see to sort images is under Options – Gallery tab – Sort Options.

    That appears to be a ‘master sort’ – which is fine except for this single gallery. Do you have a Sort Gallery link somewhere other than that?

    I had the same problem and could not see the sort gallery button. I solved this by deleting the plugin deactivating / reactivating. In the Options > Gallery make sure that the the Sort order is set to custom. The button should now appear when you manage a gallery.

    no need to deactivate/delete the plugin for seeing the ‘sort gallery’.
    all you need to do is go to Gallery > Options > Gallery Settings
    and choose in the bottom you have Sort thumbnails: just mark Custom order then you’ll have the Sort gallery option in your manage gallery.
