Everything works fine except when I use the slideshow option in a page.
    Where to look?

The sidebar has the slideshow widget.

…and, I put a slideshow at the bottom of this page.

    Thank you Alex.

    https://www.traceyjacksononline.com/films/confessions-of-a-shopaholic/
    and its not showing up.

the folder nextgen-gallery folder is in my plugin folder. it includes imagerotator.swf. i have not changed any other settings. only to upgrade to wp2.8 and to upgrade the NextGen plugin.

    Please help, thanks!

    Alright, this is weird.
I used WS FTP to upload that SWF file and even using the refresh button the view showed it being there. In two different places even.
When I looked at the directory on the server physically it wasn’t there.
I uploaded it again and said yes to an overwrite.
    WS FTP = There
    System = Not There
I transfered it with WS FTP to a TEMP folder outside of my websites folder and then from the server I copied it into the technoogies website.

    Now it works!

Thanks for the reply. If I didn’t have access directly to the server to verify it I would have told you it was there.

    One more issue.
Click on an image to view it full size and the “Loading” display never ends. This only seems to happen in Firefox 3.5. You’ll have to be patient, the images are LARGE.
Thanks for your quick responses to these problems Alex, that’s a dang good plugin Ya’ got there.

hoping a new addition to this issue will be noticed even though it’s marked as resolved.

On https://www.makatielementary.com I can’t get the slideshow to display images on a post or on the sidebar widget. I left the sidebar widget up so you can see it. Also at the bottom of the first page is a gallery you can click to view as slideshow to see the problem also. The slideshow is there but the loading animation comes up but images never load. I know larger images take longer but not 5 minutes. Just to be safe I uploaded some 23kb images to a new gallery and tried that.

I’m on WP 2.8.1 and NGG 1.3.4. I’ve d/l’d the latest imagerotator.swf and uploaded it. Heh, just to be sure I uploaded it just about everywhere possible:

    https://www.makatielementary.com/wp-content/gallery/imagerotator.swf
    https://www.makatielementary.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/imagerotator.swf
    https://www.makatielementary.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/widgets/imagerotator.swf

No love on Firefox 3.5 or IE8. any ideas/suggestions?

heh, I really did search other posts before posting that last one. But did some more digging and a suggestion that worked. Just changed the path I was calling to one of the other ones I’d uploaded to and it works great now!

    no Slideshow and no slideshow-options…

    (1) Slideshow doesn’t work in posts.

    (2) Gallery > Options > Slideshow is blank, shows no options at all.
    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=nggallery-options

But: Slideshow works with NextGen SMOOTH Gallery!

    Configuration:
    Wordpress 2.7.1
    NextGen Gallery 1.3.4
    JW Image Rotator 3.17

    I uploaded imagerotator.swf to
    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery
    /wp-content/gallery
    /wp-content/uploads
    /wp-content

    Any help? Thanks…
