[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Slide show crops or distorts images

I find that in slideshow mode my images are either cropped to fill the window or are stretched if I select other options.
I want to use both portrait and landscape formats and I want to be able to show them in there entirety !

Am I configuring it wrong or is that just the way it is ?
