[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Problem with Thumbnails on Home page

Everything is working fine with my galleries on different pages but on my Home page I have [singlepic] posts which don’t show their thumbnails. They only show an empty frame which when clicked does take you to the correct image. Is there a simple fix?

Also is it possible to remove the category tag shown in the top right hand corner on thumbnails?
