• I have not been able to get any responses for this issue. Is is possible to use w3 total cache with CDN activated and if so what are the steps to make it work. If it does not what are the paths I should exclude to disable the CDN on the nextgen slideshow.

Without CDN activated in W3 total cache, it works. But when CDN is turned on I just get a black box with spinning wait cursor.

I can’t believe there is no support for this.

Anyone who has the two working can help out?

I had the same issue. This is what I did and it seems to work.

In the W3 Total Cache CDN settings, I told it to “reject” the image rotator file. Remember, the one you needed to setup when you installed NextGen. It’s typically found here: /wp-content/uploads/imagerotator.swf

    Rejected Files:
    wp-content/uploads/imagerotator.swf

Yep, countrymusicchicago’s solution worked for me too, I even created a blog post about it:

    @dorono Super!!

    Well done everyone.

Not working for me. I must be missing something….

I have to deactivate the entire W3 Total Cache plugin for the NextGEN slideshow to work.

I will look into this after the next release, Never used W3 Total Cache

Thanks, Alex! I would like to be able to use nextGEN, but it may be easier to install a different gallery plugin than to install a different caching plugin.

Maybe it’s easier for both of us ?? Any way i will check it…

Thanks, Alex! Still looking for a setting on W3TC that may be causing this. Maybe we can get some help from Frederick?!

CDN breaks gallery plugins when either the flash does configured to run or open files from another domain or not all of the files (images, CSS / JS) have been exported to the CDN. By default the upload path for NGG is supported in the CDN settings. So without more specific information this is the best I can offer.

@robnalexpress I have no idea what your settings are and your settings are the only reason it’s working for others and not you. You can submit a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin if you like.

Thanks, Frederick. Will do a bug submission.

The issue appeared to be caused by using the line break removal option on the JavaScript.

Frederick- Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this- and solve it, and for building this impressive plugin! Users who are experiencing this issue need to be aware that it is still necessary to include ‘wp-content/uploads/imagerotator.swf’ in the rejected files field under CDN/Advanced, if using CDN with NextGEN Gallery Slideshow.

Still can’t get the Nextgen/options/general PicLens/CoolIris option to work, but that is not critical and probably just adds external bloat to the site.
