• I’m setting up a picture sharing website and I would appreciate feedback from you guys. I’m considering using WP and NextGen for this…

Basically this is how I want the site to work:

A new user registers. User gets acess to a personal photo album and the ability to upload pictures in that album only. User does not have access to edit, upload or change anything with other users albums. So basically the registered user has one album to do whatever they want with.

Best case scenario is that an album is automatically created upon the first upload, but I am thinking a new album should be created automatically once a user is registered. An other alternative is that a user can create albums themselves, but not modify other peoples albums.

Is this possible with nextgen and wordpress? Please advice, as I’ve been trying Gallery2, Drupal and alot of other stuff without the result I’m looking for.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi, I guess NextGen is not really optimized for sharing. I didn’t found any single post about making the pictures “sharable” on NextGen. I’m also looking for a solution to share and like the pictures more easy in NextGen or in general in WP. But I guess NextGen is not the solution.
I’ve made my own website in Cohana which is much better for sharing pictures and creating portals like that. Check out https://demotivatoren.eu and let me know if you need something similar ??
