[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Pics too big?

I’ve got a photographer who would like to use the gallery, the problem is, when we upload her pics, it goes crazy when we try to scan the directory. Most of her pics are 5meg and up.

I’ve changed the size in the gd.thumbnail.inc.php page to uncomment:
@ini_set(‘memory_limit’, ‘128M’);
and still no dice. She’s got some seriously big files and will continue to have them going forward. She was on Typepad and it reduced the size of the pics automatically. Doesn’t seem to do that here.

Any ideas?
