[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Open effects from compact album thumbnail

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to open the effects gallery from the thumbnail created through a compact album. Currently, if I add a compact album to a page, a thumbnail is created. If I click on the thumbnail, it takes me to another page that shows me a picture list. If I click on one of these images in the list, the effects screen pops-up. I want to avoid going to the picture list and go directly to the effects popup when clicking on the thumbnail. Is this possible? I already tried deactivating the gallery page link through “options”, but this did not work.
