[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Only Gallery Text Appears! [gallery = 3] instead of images.

  • Hi everyone. I’ve been using NextGEN gallery for a while and it is amazing. Unfortunately I am unable to get it to work with my new theme. Now, I guess this may not be something this part of the forum is responsible for but maybe I can get some direction or suggestions for where to look to fix it myself.

    On any page or post, the gallery no longer displays. In its place is the short tag.

    Things I’ve done that did not solve the problem
    1. I’ve attempted to run the plugin while no other plugin is active.
    2. I’ve reinstalled the plugin from scratch.

    I have a feeling the theme is to blame because the plugin works wonderfully in some other (but not all my other) themes. Does anyone else have this issue, or know of a workaround?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • You have written “nggallery=…” – shouldn’t it be “gallery=…”?

    Also, are entering that code when you’re in html mode (not visual)??? If you enter it in visual mode all that will show is the tag itself.

    The code has been entered using the HTML version of the form. I’ve tried both nggallery and gallery as the quicktag. If you use the built in form insertion using the NextGEN gallery button during post edit, it automatically inserts nggallery=x instead of gallery=x but neither work.

    I’ve put them both in now, to demonstrate that it doesn’t work. ??

    hmmmmm I just tried it in mine using the auto-insert and it worked fine. (thanks for the tip btw – I didnt even know that insert button existed!!!)

    Have you tried switching back to classic or default themes to see if it works in them? At least that way you’ll know if it’s a theme issue.

    I am having the exact same problem. I just upgrade NGG to the latest version and then this problem started. I tested using the default theme and same issue.

    I have tested redoing one of the posts and using the auto-insert and selecting a gallery. Still no go. Any thoughts on this?

    Please check the file permissions attached to the pictures within the related gallery.

    What ressources got the “read” attribut ?

    All my image folders are chmod’d to 755 and my images are 644. Will this cause an issue?
