[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Nextgen not working after upgrading to wordpress 3.4

  • Updated my wordpress site to newest version 3.4 and my galleries aren’t working. When I click on a thumbnail it takes me to a single static page with the image instead of the window page with navigation to go forwards or backwards. Has anyone else run into this problem after updating to wordpress 3.4? Anyone know how to fix it? Also I’m a newbie and don’t know if I can uninstall and reinstall nextgen plugin without loosing all the galleries I’ve already set up.

  • When I click a thumbnail, nothing happens. I only see LOADING and that it. Anyone?

    Have the same problem as rafou and rhonz10. I can display the galleries in an album (with the shortcode [album id=3 template=compact]) but I get nothing when I click on one of those galleries. Also, the previewpic for Album doesn’t work. Any ideas?

    Ok, I has understood the problem instead of a list of pictures and slideshows issued 404 error: in options (/wp-admin/options-permalink.php) my site was “/%postname%.php”, changed it to “/%postname%” and it worked!!!

    Nextgen not working after upgrading to wordpress 3.4 for me too. When I try to upload photos, I have :

    ERROR: 0_vectorized1.png :
    Warning: opendir(/homez.429/XXX/www//entrainement-11-07-12) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /homez.429/XXX/www/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/admin/functions.php on line 237

    Hi,
    after update to WP 3.4.1 all works fine

    I’m using Altahualpa theme. WP version 3.4.1.
    I can see my thumbnails and click on them to view the galleries.
    BUT…
    When I try to upload images to one of my galleries, I get this message:
    ERROR HTTP error. : HTTP Error.
    Now, I can’t upload any images to any of my galleries.
    I was able to upload images into my galleries before upgrading to 3.4.1. Is there a fix yet?

    I’m having the same problem on a site I just updated to 3.4.1. Plugin is also up-to-date.

    If anyone has any ideas please post.

    I just discovered that is works just fine in IE9 or Chrome. Just not FireFox.

    few days after upgrading to 3.4.1, I having problem in uploading photos..

    I’ve also updated the issue in the NextGen file: ngg-config.php
    to: require_once( WP_LOAD_PATH . ‘wp-admin/admin.php’);

    but uploading problems still there, After uploading the message
    “0 picture(s) successfully added”!!

    Tried to install the new NextGEN beta in .zip format in the Install Plugins Upload page and

    got this message…”File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.”

    Can you elaborate? I’m having the same problem on some of my galleries.
    Thumbnails display well on the web site but not in the ‘Manage gallery’ screens.

    I tried changing the file permission to 755 as suggested in other threads but that had no effect at all.

    @jordl, are you having the same problems as I? On the Manage Gallery page, right-click on a thumbnail, copy the link address, & paste into a text editor. Are all the blanks stripped out of the URL? If you add the blanks back in manually, you can get to the image, right?
    I haven’t found a solution, but just a symptom: Something is stripping out the blanks from the image & thumbnail URLs on the Manage Gallery page. I don’t think it’s NextGen’s problem, because I haven’t upgraded it in a while. Is the new WP version not doing blank substitution on path names correctly?

    I was also having the issue where my galleries weren’t displaying lightboxes when the thumbs were clicked, but instead just opening the image in a static page.
    I realized that when I upgraded WP, some of my settings for the Lightbox plugin must have been reset – specifically under “Primary Lightbox – Slideshow Settings”, the first box “Slideshow” was unchecked, and when I checked it, the slideshows are working again! So if you’re having similar problems with the slideshow, maybe first try double checking your settings for LBP, and see if that helps. ?

    Add me to the list of none working NextGen Gallery installs on multi-site WP 3.4.1. I’ve reinstalled it three times and I still get the error: Undefined index: wpmuStyle in /home/content/00/5602200/html/mericardo/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/admin/admin.php on line 473. Since I’m new to WP (I usually code my sites using either PHP or Perl and MySQL) and have never used NextGen Gallery before, I was looking forward to the time saving features and some of the great looks. I think I’ll uninstall NextGen until I read about a fix. Anybody have any suggestions for a comparable gallery plugin? Thanks in advance.
