• Dear NextGen & WordPress people,

I have to different websites for clients where i use NextGEN. On both of the website the big images (on click) are the original size (3000 x 4000 pixels or something like that). NextGEN is not resizing my pictures ??

I my admin the image rezise setting is on 800 x 600. But is there something i am missing here? Because resize is not working on the big image…

    Any help would be great.

  • you have to resize after you upload. edit the gallery and select all images. then in the “Action” menu select “resize images”.

Helloari thats great to know. Thanks!!

But why isn’t there an option to resize every image you upload? I mean most pictures these days are 3000 x 2000 pixels, way to big for the net.
Is there any method to resize directly?

Anyone with a method to always resize your uploaded images?

There’s a plugin called nextgen-resize. I am just installing it and have not used it yet, but the description says it will upload/resize to whatever you have set for Gallery > Options : Images.

The one thing I wonder about the plugin is what happens if you change the Images default size to something larger in Options. Would nextgen-resize then try to enlarge the 72dpi JPG and ruin the resolution. . .

If you select all the gallerys under ‘Manage Gallery’ then click on the ‘action’ dropdown, you can choose ‘resize images’.
