[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGen Gallery is making backups?

I just saw that inside my gallery folder in my worpress site there is a backup file for each image that is uploaded.
e.g. 04052011689.jpg_backup
It’s really bug in size as well.
Can I stop this from happening?
