• Greetings:

I have a wordpress site thats a new install. Its setup in a subfolder off the root. NextGen is installed. So far its working without a problem. But I have come across a few postings in which its inferred that there are be problems running Nextgen in a subfolder.

    So, here are my questions:

    1. Are there known issues (for Nextgen) in the case were wordpress is installed and run from a subdirectory?

    2. If I move the wordpress install from the subdirectory to the root, what steps will need to be taken in regards to Nextgen?

    Thanks

    Tim

  • There is definitely an issue if you don’t want to have separate folders for any blog on a WP multisite environment. But if any blog in your WP multisite environment should have it’s own gallery (your root should contain the placeholder %BLOG_ID%) and you should not encounter any difficulties! (Of course I’m talking about the network administrator settings & dashboard in a WP multisite).

    (UPDATE)

Well finally it seems I found a solution.

When I change the global path at the network settings and going back to a sub blog, the path is still the old one stored for the gallery. When I go to the Reset/Uninstall page of NextGen Gallery and hit Reset the path gets updated to the settings from the network settings. So this solved the issue but I lost all other settings I made. (All albums stayed – Only the Option-Settings are getting a reset!) To be honest this is something I can manage and redo my settings the most important thing was to get back the proper folder settings to my galleries!

Thank’s a lot you make my DAY!
