• Hello!

I just installed NextGEN and am trying to figure it out. I wanted to create a gallery and populate it with photos which were already in the Media Library.

I created a new gallery (“Dinosaurs”) and then clicked on Import Image Folder. I found the path of one of the photos I wanted to import into the gallery and copied it over to the Import from server path field:

    wp-content/uploads/2009/11/

NextGEN seemed to import all the images (about 300 photos + clipart etc.) and create thumbnails. However, when it was finished I noticed that it had created a second gallery named “11”, which is not what I wanted.

So I thought I would start all over. In the Gallery >> Manage Gallery interface I deleted the two galleries.

Then I went back to the blog, and found that all the images are missing. ?? Only the image name is displayed.

I checked in Media >> Library and the file names are still listed, but no thumbnail. If I try to “View” any of the images, all I see is the file name.

Please help (urgently!). This is a friend’s blog and I need to restore her images asap. (I don’t have access to any of the originals.)

    Thank you!

  • Did you ever find a solution to this?
I just did this exact thing yesterday.
And I have the exact same problem.
    Lost over 1400 images.

    Thanks.
