[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Installing slideshow

I installed Nextgen gallery following the procedure shows in their video. I can add the gallery to a Page, but only with [ nggallery id=2 ] (w/o spaces). What comes up is the gallery thumbnails with [ view as slideshow ] right above it. The slideshow will work if I click that. If I try to install [ slideshow id=2 ] nothing happens.
Also, is it possible to get rid of the view slideshow tag?
And is there a way to adjust the speed of the slide show?
