[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] individual multisite gallery path settings

    Hi,

    I wonder if this would be feasible or not, if not I would love to see this as a feature request.

    In a multisite environment you have the ability to set up a gallery path at the network settings. This is the default path for all blogs. With the placeholder %BLOG_ID% you can organize the folder structure better. The default setting should be wp-content/blogs.dir/%BLOG_ID%/files/

    But I do have blogs that share the same gallery and therefore I stripped out the %BLOG_ID% and I use only “wp-content/gallery/”, but now I do have a separate blog that will have an admin who is not myself and I only want to grant access to his own gallery path.

    Is there any chance to get this achieved? Where can I do the settings?

    I can not believe that I’m the only one having trouble since the first update by Photocrati.

    Since their update I’m not able to use NextGen Gallery anymore with my multisite environment. I was able to share a gallery with multiple blogs, which is now impossible as there is no way to change the common path! Even I have set a common path each gallery setting on the different sub-blogs are showing

    wp-content/blogs.dir/%BLOG_ID%/files/

    instead of the global setup “wp-content/gallery/”

    will this ever be fixed or do I have to switch to any other solution?

    This feature was working on the NextGen Gallery prior to version 1.9.5 and was damaged with the first release of Photocrati (which was 1.9.5!) since then it never got fixed nor did anyone of Photocrati reply.

    Even restoring back to an older version of NextGen is not fixing the issue. The path at the sub-blog stays “wp-content/blogs.dir/%BLOG_ID%/files/” although the multisite setting is set to “wp-content/gallery/”.

    Why is there nobody looking at this!?

    Well finally it seems I found a solution.

    When I change the global path at the network settings and going back to a sub blog, the path is still the old one stored for the gallery. When I go to the Reset/Uninstall page of NextGen Gallery and hit Reset the path gets updated to the settings from the network settings. So this solved the issue but I lost all other settings I made. (All albums stayed – Only the Option-Settings are getting a reset!) To be honest this is something I can manage and redo my settings the most important thing was to get back the proper folder settings to my galleries!

    I turned off the readonly for the gallery path field, which then lets me set the same path for every blog. Still a little bit manual and does require a code hack.

    In NGG 1.9.10, open admin/settings.php goto line 341 (the Gallery Path option) and add two forward slashes // before the: if (is_multisite())

    Save and you should then have write access to that field!

    Tells me to change the table prefix. Now I can see my galleries across all multisites! woots!
