[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] incorrect Gallery order on 0.94

I have the same “problem”.
Go to your database and reorder gid as you prefered (search wp_ngg_gallery) ??

PS – no!
If you change database order you receive much more problem. ??

And the Slideshow also not working

Ahrg, yes you are right, the new queries didn’t respect the album oder (it sort it always by ID’s)

Sildeshow should be ok, otherwise reupload all files again…

I’ve had the same problem with the slideshow. after reuploading imagerotator.swf it worked again.

I’m having he same issue. I need to galleries to be sorted alphabetically. Right now, they are not sorted alphabetically, not by date, and not entirely by ID#. I can’t figure out how it is sorting them and it’s frustrating. is there any way to fix this and get a logical way to sort the galleries within the album, so people can search easily (with 100 different galleries based on name it’s important to be able to quickly browse through and find the gallery name you want/need).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can setup the sorting in the option….

I had this same issue but I solved it by removing, then reinstalling the plugin. Now the galleries in the albums are in the correct order. Not sure why that happened though.

alex, thank you for responding. I appreciate all the work you do. I must be blind, because I’ve spent the last 2 hours trying to find a way to sort the galleries within an album. I cannot see any place to do that. If you could please post exactly where I would find that I would be forever grateful (or anyone else who happens to know). Other than this one issue, everything has been working perfectly. I just need a way to sort the galleries alphabetically within an album. Right now, it is not sorted by any logic I can figure out. it’s not sorted by gallery number, or by date created, or title, or file names, or by order in which I manually sorted them, nothing I can make sense of. It’s baffling to me and I’m beyond frustrated.

If I knew that starting over from scratch would solve the problem, I’d go ahead and delete everything and start over, but i don’t want to do that without knowing for sure it would help, as that is about 7-10 days worth of work.

You have two different sortings :

For galleries : This is selected in the gallery options

For albums : Simply moce the selceted gallery with you mouse to the position you would like to have it…

Alex, thank you for trying to help me. I feel so stupid that I can’t get this figured out, and it’s holding everything up until I do. I can sort the images within a gallery just fine. No problems there.

I want to sort the galleries within the album. I have manually sorted them, using my mouse, within the MANAGE ALBUM page. But this is not reflected in the actual sorting of the galleries when someone views the album. They are still randomly sorted. They are not sorted according to how I manually sorted them. They are not sorted by date added. They are not sorted by galleryID or by pageID. They are not sorted alphabetically. I cannot figure out how they are being sorted and how I can change it. They look randomly sorted to me, but they are always sorted in the same random order. I can make a new album and they remain in this weird order. I’ve even deleted galleries from my site, recreated them, and they still end up in the sort in the same place. So, obviously there’s some reason they’re being sorted this way, but I can’t figure it out.

Let me put together an example album and do a few screen shots for you, because obviously I’m missing something here. It sounds like it must be some easy thing to do but I can’t seem to get it.

Problem solved. When I updated to v.95, the sort corrected itself to how it should be.
