    Hi,
    the shortcode [nggg] uses a filter of the nextgen-gallery plugin to get the gallery data. If you use it without including a gallery in your post, it can’t get any data.

    You can use the function (ng_gallery_geo_show(gallery-ID);) to show a map, without showing a gallery.
    The next version will probably support something like this: [nggg id=gallery-ID]
