[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] gallery shortcode broken in wordpress 2.5

NextGEN uses the shortcode one year ago, I don’t think I “compete” with the built in gallery….

Version 0.92 should be working now.

I didn’t mean to say that your plugin is inferior or anything as I still use it and appreciate it. Obviously I understand yours was around first, I would just like to see your plugin and the built-in galleries work together.

I changed the references to the gallery shortcode to nggallery in the following files:

./admin/manage.php
./admin/wp25/manage.php
./admin/wp25/functions.php
./tinymce/window.php
./tinymce3/window.php

I just installed NextGen .98 and it’s still not fixed. The [gallery] shortcode doesn’t work. All the other shortcodes work: singlepic, imagerotator, album are fine. Unfortunately, I need the gallery option.

I am having the same issue. Any word on this being corrected?

It was corrected for me in the later versions of nggallery. What version are you using?

I’m running WP 2.5 and .99.1 – The [gallery] tag doesn’t work in this combo, however I’ve got it working in a few WP 2.6 installations. Any idea why this is?

I have gotten mine to work. The issue with mine was the theme I was using. It was being driven by the Smarty template and as a result it was not working. Once I removed Smarty from the equation everything worked again.

Haven’t researched the “why” with the Smarty template, but it was something that changed from 2.5 to 2.6 because the exact same theme worked in 2.5 and stopped in 2.6.

[gallery] tag is only interpreted if the_content() function is used within the template. I had the same problem until i figured out that i was using echo get_the_content() instead of the_content(). Hope it helps.
