• I was using NextGen Gallery 1.9.2 with WordPress 3.2.1 and had set my gallery option to display 20 images per page, which created 3 pages. After the upgrade to WP 3.4.1 the pagination was broken. It would display 404 not found in the title bar, and display what looked like a post page. So, I set the gallery Number of Images per page to 0, to put all the images on one page (works fine). I then saw that NextGen had an upgrade, so upgraded NextGen Gallery to 1.9.5, put the 20 images per page back, but still the pagination doesn’t work. I have put the code into ngg-config.php that was suggested in other threads, for other upgrade issues, but that didn’t help. Any suggestions?

I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but since I didn’t get any replies, I looked around a bit at others’ problems with the upgrade, in case I missed something that was related, and one mentioned something about refreshing the permalinks because they were getting 404s for all their blog pages. So, I did that, and then set the number of images per page back to 20, and voila, it’s paging correctly now, no 404 when I try to view the 2nd or 3rd gallery page. Just wanted to post this in case someone else has a similar issue. Of course, if it IS just a coincidence…

Thank you for your follow up post. I had the same problem and initially wasn’t sure what “refreshing permalinks” actually meant, but I just went to the Setting–>Permalinks page in WP admin and hit Save again and like magic the NextGen gallery pagination returned!

    Thanks again!
